The name that found me.

THE NAME THAT FOUND ME

How Star Shee found me.

There was a time when I was doing a lot of looking inward.

Shadow work. Spiritual awakening. Questions I couldn't always answer. Moments when life seemed to be asking me to stop, sit still, and listen.

So I asked.

I asked Spirit, Goddess, Source, the Universe, my ancestors—whoever was listening—to reveal my true name.

It didn't take long.

Star Shee.

At first, what came through was Star Sidhe, a name that connected with the Sidhe of Celtic lore. And almost immediately, I recognized why.

The Sidhe represented something deeply familiar to me: whimsy, imagination, color, curiosity, and a way of seeing the world from just outside the lines.

I've always been a little fairy-like that way.

Honestly, I still wish I had wings.

But there was another piece to the name that resonated with me just as strongly.

The banshee.

Not because I see myself as something frightening, but because of the role of the warning voice—the one who sees something coming and calls out when danger is near.

I've often felt that way in my own spiritual practice. I may see something before it happens. I may sense that something isn't right. I may try to warn someone or point them toward what I'm seeing.

But ultimately, I can only lead someone to the water.

I can't make them drink.

The fairy and the banshee may seem like very different creatures, but somehow, both felt like me.

One represents my imagination, creativity, curiosity, and colorful way of moving through the world.

The other represents the watcher. The warning. The part of me that pays attention when something feels like it's coming.

Maybe Star Shee found me because I was never meant to be just one thing.

And perhaps that's the real meaning of living outside the box:

You don't have to choose between the different pieces of yourself.

You can be both.

You can be many things.

You can simply be you.
